Lombok surfing scene offers something for everyone, with a variety of points, reefs, and beach breaks on the menu; From peaky beach breaks for beginners (Selong Belanak) to hardcore barrels for the pros (Bangko-Bangko or Desert Point, and yes it is known as one of the best waves in the world).

  • Gerupuk Bay Lombok Surfing Trip

    Gerupuk Bay Inside and Outside

    Inside: All levels | Outside: Intermediate/Advanced

    Our personal favorite! inside is a beautiful and mellow spot, with a long right-hander that is almost always working. With a soft grass reef covering the bottom, you can surf the wave on a lower tide.

    Outside break sits on an outer reef and picks up much swell, the wave has a steep takeoff with a fast inside and barreling sections and sharp, shallow reef.

    Tanjung Aan lombok surfing

    All levels

    Tanjung Aan is one of the most beautiful beaches on Lombok's south coast. A long A-frame wave can be found in the middle of the bay. This wave is great for beginners and longboarders on smaller days since you can get a really long, exciting ride.

    The wave grows more powerful with a great wall on bigger days, and the currents can get intense. During the rainy season, on a mid to high tide, is the greatest time to surf.

    With two waves Ekas Inside (A fun wave for beginners to the intermediate surfers with the more mellow wave) and Ekas Outside (tend to pick up more swell and is a steep left hand wave that can give barreling sections.) , this is a place for all levels.

    Ekas works all year round being located next to the hill, protecting it from the wind in the dry season.

    Are Guling - Right

    A right hand wave that can hold both big and small swell and works best in low to mid-tide. It can be a long playful ride with a nice wall or a fast barreling wave.

    Are Guling - Left

    A left-hand wave that breaks on the left side of the bay and is more fast and hollow with a shorter ride. This wave works best on a mid-size swell, 4-5 ft, and mid to high tide. Are Guling left usually is less crowded than the right.
