Choose Your Lombok to Komodo Sailing Experience

The Lombok to Komodo sailing route is one of Southeast Asia's most iconic liveaboard journeys - a 4-day expedition crossing the Flores Sea through Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site home to Komodo dragons, giant manta rays, whale sharks, and some of Indonesia's most dramatic island landscapes.

The Yass Life operates four distinct sailing tiers on this route - Standard, Comfort, Premium, and Signature - each designed for a different traveler. Same spectacular destinations. Different onboard experience, group size, and comfort level. Choose the tier that fits how you like to travel.

Which Komodo sailing tier is right for you?

Choosing between sailing tiers comes down to three things: how much space you want, how social you want the experience to be, and how important onboard comfort is relative to price.

Standard is for budget-conscious adventurers who prioritize the destinations over the boat. Shared cabins, basic facilities, and larger group sizes (up to 45 guests) keep costs low while delivering the full Komodo experience.

Comfort is the sweet spot for most travelers - private or semi-private cabins, a relaxed social atmosphere, and a manageable group size of up to 28 guests. Thursday and Sunday departures make scheduling straightforward.

Prices start from USD $345 per person. Premium offers fewer guests (up to 23), upgraded cabin layouts, and a more refined onboard atmosphere. The Premium route includes an exclusive stop at Moyo Island's Mata Jitu Waterfall - one of the most underrated detours on the entire route. Prices start from USD $420 per person. Signature is our flagship experience - same group size as Premium (max 23 guests), but with a more curated itinerary rhythm, a distinctive onboard atmosphere, and a professional photographer included on every departure.

The Signature route includes the Saleh Bay whale shark experience as a highlight stop. Prices start from USD $420 per person. If you're still unsure, contact us on WhatsApp and we'll match you to the right tier based on your travel dates, group size, and preferences.

Day 1 — Departure from Lombok's Kayangan Harbor. Afternoon stop at Kenawa Island for snorkeling and sunset. Overnight sailing toward Saleh Bay.

Day 2 — Saleh Bay whale shark encounter (natural conditions dependent) — swimming alongside the world's largest fish in open water. Continue sailing toward Komodo National Park.

Day 4 — Manjarite Island and Kelor Island final stops, then arrival at Labuan Bajo harbor around 12:00 PM.

The reverse route (Komodo to Lombok) covers the same destinations in the opposite direction, departing Labuan Bajo and arriving at Lombok's Kayangan Harbor on Day 4. All tiers follow the same core route — exact daily sequencing may vary slightly depending on weather, tides, and sailing conditions.

  • Lombok International Airport (LOP) has direct connections from Bali (30 minutes), Jakarta (2 hours), and Kuala Lumpur. From the airport, our free shuttle pickup covers Kuta Lombok, Senggigi, and Bangsal. Most guests fly into Bali and connect to Lombok the day before departure.

  • The route operates year-round. April to October is peak season — dry conditions, calmer seas, and best underwater visibility. Padar Island's savanna turns golden and dramatic. Manta ray sightings are most consistent May to October. November to March is shoulder season — Padar Island turns lush green, whale shark sightings at Saleh Bay are often more frequent, and prices are lower. Some itinerary adjustments may occur due to sea conditions. Most guests book 2–4 months in advance for peak season, particularly July and August which fill fastest.

  • Yes! All tiers run as open trips meaning solo travelers join a shared group. The Comfort and Standard tiers are particularly popular with solo travelers and tend to have the most social atmosphere onboard. Premium and Signature attract smaller, more mixed groups.

  • A minimum 50% deposit secures your booking. Rescheduling is allowed up to 30 days before departure subject to availability. Cancellations or rescheduling requests within 30 days of departure result in forfeiture of the deposit. Final payment is due 7 days before departure.

  • Travel insurance is not mandatory but strongly recommended. It is not included in any tier package and must be arranged independently before travel.

  • Our crew monitors weather and sea conditions continuously. Itinerary adjustments including route changes, timing modifications, or destination swaps may occur to prioritize safety. Every effort is made to deliver the full experience - guests are informed of any changes as early as possible.

  • No wildlife encounters can be guaranteed as these animals move freely in their natural habitat. Whale shark sightings at Saleh Bay and manta ray encounters at Manta Point depend on natural conditions including weather, water visibility, and seasonal migration. Sightings are common but never promised.
